Dell Vostro 3550 Microphone Not Working
Dell Vostro internal mic not working. Q: Dell Vostro internal mic not. I've had nothing but trouble will Dell internal wireless cards, not working for any rhyme or reason. Then they might work perfectly a year later for no. The Dell Vostro 3550 sports the same external design as last year's system. I just got a Dell Vostro 3550 and I cannot get the audio to work at all. I was told there are no external speakers so there needs to be headphones or speakers hooked up for sound to play. The icon for the volume shows that it is muted. Every time I click it, it begins to troubleshoot and then it attempts to fix the issue by reinstalling the IDT Audio Codec.
It does this and I get a pop up telling me it is enabled, but the dialogue box shows me that the problem is not resolved. When I plug in headphones or speakers and hover over the volume icon the dialogue box says that there are no headphones or speakers detected.
When I go into my audio options it shows me two icons for 'Bluetooth headphones' that are grayed over and it says 'disconnected' with no options for connecting them. It is the same way for the microphone jack.

Do you have Bluetooth speakers that you are trying to connect? You said you 'plug in headphones or speakers'. If you need more help please mention which operating system the laptop has.
Thank you for your help. And yes, I meant internal speakers. I don't know what the person meant by saying there are no internal speakers, whether it was ignorance, deception, or if he actually had removed the speakers. Maybe he just meant they are not working.
