Fearlessjay: Absolutely brilliant, nice to have Fallout 2 working properly on Android. One thing though, the GOG versions of games don't seem to work. Spent ages trying to get F2, Might and Magic and various other GOG versions. Ended up moving an old version of F2 I had on the laptop. Just make sure to change the location in the CFG file.

Thanks Roland, your hard work is really appreciated. Strange how I find old games so much more then fun. Hey thank you!

At the this time you cannot utilize the emulated CD-ROM while you are in the Windows 95 operating system. This is a result of currently incomplete IDE emulation. ATTENTION: Occasionally you will see extreme slow down at around this point. Simply wait a minute or two for it to pass. The Windows Setup is running some checks in the background.

To get the GOG version of Fallout 2 working you will need to install killaps manual patches. This will add support for win98 and tons of other tweaks and fixes. Other possible problems are the path to the game data in the Fallout2 config being incorrect. I have a download link in the guide to my custom configs for people having that issue too. I also love my Good old games;) You've got to try killap's patch, its like Nirvana for Hardcore Fallout Fans:) From the full guide in the download package: Fallout 2 Regular -If you wish to play Fallout 2 I recommend installing Killap’s unofficial fallout 2 patch. 1) Download and Extract Killaps Unofficial patch, open the folder.

2) Open the 'main' folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files) 3) Open the 'Windows 95-98-ME' folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files) 4) Open the “Batchwork’ folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. Run the f2.bat file (A window will popup) 5) Next this is EXTREMELY important, in your Fallout 2 install directory delete a file called 'patch000.dat' 6) (Optional) You can also install Mash’s resolution patch: to increase your screen size. Note.

This may impact game performance but allows you to see much more of the map at once. Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch (US/UK - manual install) Fallout2 Hi-Res Patch v4.0.2 Fallout 2 Restoration Project -If you wish to play Killaps Fallout 2 Restoration Project on Android then you must do the following. 1) Download and Extract the Restoration patch, open the folder.

2) Open the 'main' folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. (yes to overwrite the files) 3) Open the 'Windows 95-98-ME' folder and copy and paste these files into your Fallout 2 install directory. The Fallout 2 Restoration Project requires a faster device to run than a regular install of Fallout2. As my mrs will tell you, I've spent the weekend messing around with this. Fallout 2 was no problem, and Arcanum works but is unplayable.

Couldn't get thief working, but been mainly trying to get the Might and Magic series working. The Gog versions 6 to 8 have the same problem as the GOG Fallout 2, saying that they need a newer version of windows.

Got the originals out, and if you add the graybeard patches they refuse to run, seems to need the cd to run. Tried to mount them on the Daemon tools, you get the cut scene, then a windows run time error.

Been honest besides the Arcanum and Fallouts, the M and M games are probably the ones I would play most on tablet. I do have a tendency to spend more time trying to get things working then playing them though. Great to think though that with the speed of progress with Tablets that in a few years the likes of Arcanum will work perfectly.

Dosbox

I'm not one to usually ask for help in regards to things of this nature ( I usually obsess over looking for forums, videos, etc. Until I find out how to do it- or give up if I cant), but I'm too in love with Fallout to let the possibility slip. I have an ASUS Transformer TF300.

The applications I have that might be useful to this are: Dosbox Turbo, 7 zipper, Jota+ text editor, and File Expert. I've seen posts in a few different discussions on GOG relating to my model of tablet and trying to get F1 working on them, but no definitive answers from what I could see; so I have a few questions. Is there a way to get Fallout 1 running on my device without the need to purchase any additional sd cards or anything of that nature?

Will the windows version downloaded from GOG work? Is it possible to do without the aid of a PC? I swear, if I can get Fallout running I'm going to like sh.t out Nuka-Cola.

Hope to hear back soon! Zombiemaan123: Hey, all!

Hope to hear back soon! I'm new to this stuff as well, but I think I can answer your questions: 1: I don't know how big the storage is of that tablet, but it's not necessary to get an sdcard if your storage is big enough for it. If you follow the tutorial, you need around 2,3GB of space. If you do use an sdcard, you need to change the configuration of DosBox because it's made to work with your files in the root of your storage. Well for Fallout 2 that is, and I believe RolandDeschain79 that the method for Fallout 1 works.

To be honest Fallout 1 is too flawed for me to enjoy it so I didn't try it on my tablet (Fallout 2 is pure childhood nostalgia though:)). 3: You need the installed files of the games, not the installation.exe you download here but the files in C: Program Files.

So the easiest way is to install the game on your pc and copy those files, which means you do need a pc. I tried extracting the.exe with 7zip but that doesn't work, and I don't know how else you would do this, the point of an installer is extracting the files anyway. If your issue is that you don't have a Windows pc, installation with Wine on Linux would do pretty much the same, and you'd be able to extract the files that way.

Your tablet should be able to run Fallout I think, it's a Tegra 3. As this is for Android, I'm a bit out of place;) I got one of the Dell Venue 8 Pro - real Win 8.1. My old PlayBook is broken and my old Android was no fun anymore, too. After bashing MS for a long time, I gave it a shot;) So far it's better (a lot) than I thought.

I tried F1 and F2 but also Master of Orion II. The Gog-Installer did work in all three cases but the games won't start. No error message after hitting the link of the games. The gog-files for F1&F2 (sadly I have Tactics only via Steam-gift; missed the free deal) should work on Win8, shouldn't it?

Windows 3.1 For Dosbox Download

The Venue 8 has a Atom Bay trail ( Z3740D Quadcore 1.4ghz) with 2GB RAM, GPU is a very sized down HD Graphics 4000. It should even run dx 11 xD. CPU should be faster than the usual ARM in most cases, the GPU is probably middle class. Would be fun to see how this Game run with Win 8.1 on a Atom. I will look for a Win8 dosbox, there should be a few I hope (it's not the RT, it's the real one;) ) Any hints would be great. Sorry to be a bother but I have been trying to get Fallout Restoration project to work on my nexus 5 for 2 days now with no luck.

Run Windows 95 In Dosbox

I keep getting the the Could not load Directx - error message. This program requires Windows 95 with Directx 3.0a or later or windows NT version 4.0 with Service Pack 3 or greater. I have tried it with Win9x for DosBox Turbo V2.0 and V3.0 I'm sure I'm following the tutorial to the letter Im even removeing the Sfall and Ddraw files.

I'm really stuck here. I can only imagine its got to be down to the version of fallout 2 that I have. Which is steams version. Does anyone have any advice?
